The Family Medicine Center

The Morton Safran Family Practice Center, conveniently located one block from Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, is a modern healthcare facility that serves as the primary care classroom for training and educating our resident physicians. It features 34 examination rooms, four fully equipped procedure suites for flexible sigmoidoscopy, colposcopy, minor surgical procedures and osteopathic manipulation. It also features a fully equipped ENT suite, Ophthalmology suite, Orthopedic suite, X-Ray suite, a laboratory, a conference room, and a medical library. Full on-line access is available for the most up to date clinical evidence.

Residents and Attending Physicians work side-by-side and are assisted by a strong support team including of full time Registered Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Medical Assistants, Phlebotomists, X-Ray technicians, Social Workers, Psychologists, Dieticians, and Administrative staff. Our residents have full hands-on management of their own continuity panels of pediatric, adult, geriatric, and OB/GYN patients on a daily basis. The center boasts a 4:1 ratio of residents to faculty and a consultative staff of sub-specialists. 

With an annual census of more than 40,000 visits from a diverse community, the trainee is afforded an extensive clinical experience during their three years of residency.
