The web design team at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center have just completed a total overhaul of the hospital’s website. This effort incorporates the latest technologies including active server databases, video, flash animation, and javascript slideshows and menus. The new site http://www.jamaicahospital.org features virtual tours of the LDR’s, a slide shows of the new dental center, live traffic cams from the Directions page, a searchable physicians’ database, health information, and a wide range of updated content. The site-wide efforts will enhance usability and offer an exponentially greater web experience.

The site features a completely new layout that will make navigation easier and provide more compelling visuals. Users can access any of the site’s information using dual navigation columns on the left and right side of the screen. Information on common medical conditions, written by our medical staff, can be found in the Health Information section.

The site spotlights our Employees of the Month from the home page and a password-protected section provides better information for our medical staff. The News page offers up-to-date news and press information and features video clips with more to be added in the future.

The site’s redesign is a response to the fast-changing nature of the web. New technologies have spurred the growth of better, more interactive websites. Jamaica Hospital Medical Center is committed to having one of the most up-to-date and comprehensive medical center websites on the net. Additional content is now in the works and added features and greatly enhanced health and medical content are planned for the future.
