STANDARD OF CARE
Philosophy
The
Department of Nursing believes that the delivery of high
quality nursing care at reasonable cost can only be achieved
when standards of such care are established by, and are
known to the nursing practitioners who deliver that care.
Goal
To
establish standards for the delivery of nursing care which
will support and promote continuous improvement in the quality
of patient care.
Objectives
-
To
enlist the participation of nursing management and staff
in the development and documentation of these standards,
so that they may serve as a measure for nursing performance.
-
To
continually modify standards of care reflected by changes
in value, advances in science and technology and alterations
in the policies and regulations of governmental, institutional
and regulatory agencies.
The format
to be used will address: Outcome, process of Structure, and
their combinations. They reflect expected outcomes and nursing
